To Change and Beyond!

So starts my adventure into the world of blogging. A beginning, of which there will be many as an educator but foremost as a learner. Thanks to an amazing group of passionate and invigorated peers, plenty of great inspirations online and the amazing young people who dive in unabashed! I am excited about how I can learn and share from a wider audience and social media. The challenge ahead, to support change in our school. To see our role in the classroom from deliverers to facilitators of learning. To take risks that we expect of our students each day and to be somewhat vulnerable but ultimately open to new things. Diving into a much much bigger bowl!

Nice to see your blog up and running. The first one is the hardest. I’m looking forward to seeing what you share. It’s amazing how quickly all of us being in this online space has helped to build a network between our schools.

It’s a little thanks to you! You have shown that using blogs within a classroom can have an impact on student learning. Alyssa’s blog is an inspiration and an example to us all. Having George Couros here was just the kick in the pants we all needed at Wirreanda to stop talking and actually do! Thanks for taking the time.

It is awesome that you have taken the plunge as understanding this space is crucial to teaching it to your students and understanding not only how it impacts our digital footprint, but also learning. This is a process that takes time though, so be patient. It is easy to want to just push your kids in the pool, but as you have modeled, it is a lot tougher to jump in first. To get to that “transformative” work, we need to experience that learning for ourselves.

    Best of luck 🙂

Thanks George! Your visit to Wirreanda has had a huge impact on many of our staff. There is definitely a buzz around and some late nights as we work on our blogs and problem solve together via twitter! We are impassioned to support our students and our school to develop a positive digital presence. Thanks so much for your support and encouragement.
